  • Membership Coordinator (posted April 10, 2008)

    The Software & Information Industry Association is the principal trade association for the software and digital content industry is seeking a Membership Coordinator who will work directly with our Vice President of Membership Services. In this role, you will be supporting all aspects of SIIA's membership retention and recruitment programs. The ideal candidate has at least two years experience, preferably in a customer corporate membership organization; pays exceptional attention to details; can ensure a high level of accuracy to member records and data; works easily in Excel; is familiar with database management tools (preferably iMIS); and has excellent written and oral communications skills.

    Responsibilities:

    Renewals Support

    • Supports divisions in renewal efforts by running status reports, identifying contacts, resolving questions, and assisting in outreach as needed.
    • Works with divisions to produce Year in Review brochures and related collateral to keep members informed of SIIA activities.
    • Responds to member inquiries of all kinds.

    New Member Recruitment

    • Works with division prospect lists to qualify membership leads through phone and email follow up.
    • Develops and drafts electronic collateral to support member recruitment as needed.
    • Supports member recruitment by responding to requests for information, research prospect companies, explaining member benefits, drafting collateral and preparing membership packets.

    Membership Reports

    • Creates monthly, quarterly and ad hoc reports on membership activity for the VP, Membership, President and division staff.

    Data Management

    • Manages all responsibilities related to processing renewals and new member applications, including database updates, invoicing, and staff communications.
    • Ensure accuracy and integrity of membership database
    • Advisor to MIS for managing, organizing, coding and identifying membership information (membership systems administration).
    • Oversee entering of prospects and new member information into iMIS

    Minimum Requirements:

    Prefer Bachelors degree or equivalent work in membership services (preferably corporate membership) with an emphasis on membership recruitment and retention, customer service, or membership marketing.

    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
    • Experience working with a contacts database (iMIS preferred) with a demonstrated ability to manage and maintain data records with accuracy and thoroughness.
    • Ability to manage and maintain detailed reports (particularly in Excel) with a high-level of accuracy.
    • Excellent inter-personal skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact well with members.

  • Manager, Education Division (posted August 27, 2008)

    The Software & Information Industry Association - the principal trade association for the software and digital content industry - is seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious person to manage the development and execution of Education Division programs and projects.


Responsibilities include:
  • Assists VP with strategic initiatives identified in conjunction with Division Vice President, the Division Board, Committees and Working Groups.

  • Manages and produces SIIA’s Ed Tech Daily Newsletter, Membership Updates and all external communication regarding the Education Division.

  • Develops and writes content for division projects and SIIA publications and Ed Division website on business issues and industry trends.

  • Manages program development and evaluation for SIIA webcasts, member meetings and similar events.

  • Takes an active role in supporting current members, including facilitating networking and business opportunities and addressing business issues.

  • Manages Division member contacts, including renewal work, keeps membership database up-to-date.

  • Researches industry issues and stays abreast of latest trends and issues, while managing the Ed Tech TrendsWatch Database.

  • Works with all appropriate SIIA departments to coordinate the delivery and awareness of these services to maximize SIIA's interests.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Minimum requirements:

     Undergraduate degree and user knowledge of Microsoft Office and FrontPage applications, Web 2.0 tools, a plus.  Three years work experience in managing projects and meeting deadlines and demonstrated knowledge of the structure and business market of K-12 and Postsecondary education.
